A little bit about me

I was born in Tynemouth, and for as long as I can remember have loved painting and art generally. At college in Manchester I studied ceramics and sculpture; after which I taught art at a Secondary school for a short time. This was in the late sixties, before coming to live and work on the Greek island of Skiathos, where I still live. Although I always thought about painting, for many years my life on Skiathos left little time to pursue it other than as a hobby. Since 2004 I've devoted time to my painting and have establishes myself as a professional artist. I paint outside on sunny winter days or in my studio. The natural beauty of Skiathos as well as the monasteries and the town are my main subjects. I also welcome commissions and enjoy painting the views from private villas. Apart from painting I'm interested in the publishing side of my art work. I've a professional large format printer to produce Limited Edition Prints and Greetings Cards. Visitors to the island from many corners of the world have taken home both my Original Paintings and the Limited Edition Prints. My work can now be found in private collections in Europe, U.S.A., Canada, Australia, New Zealand and more. My work is on view at Karavotsakisma House all year round; a selection of cards and Limited Edition Prints are displayed for sale at the MAREGAIA shop in Skiathos Town. I am a UNESCO member artist and also a member of THE PASTEL GUILD OF EUROPE.
